Background
Indonesia is a nation that represents many kind of sub-culutres which reflect a daily life picture of traditional comunnity. Those sub-cultures are still exixts and influence each other with each of their uniqueness to achieve new value system that represents Indonesian cultures. On the other side, idustry and technology development brings new effect on Indonesian cultures development. The growth of Indonesian culuture since centuries a go figured out Indonesian national identity. Dance production has been a way to express it through fusion of line form, movement, unique voices and groove. The content of dance production will be quite effective for expressing ideas and experience through the dancers imagination.
A Glance of DDLC
Initially this group was named Dedy Dance Company (D.D.C). Later however, it was unanimously changed to Dedy Lutan Dance Company or DLDC was etablished in early 1990 by Dedy Lutan who is a choreographer along with his two associates, Elly D Lutan and Iriene S. Prinka, who have similar interest. This dance company was initially a cluster small dance groups that were later developed, united and led by Dedy Lutan who was also their choreographer since 1973.
DLDC’s primary aspect is to start with intensive field research in all of Indonesian traditions and to establish a direct contact with the soucers of these traditions. The choreographers are expected to be able to reveal their self actualization by striving in the field research activity in order to reach a better understanding in the essence of human life.
Vision and Misison
The vision is to aspire arts and creativity by the continous creation of contemporary or traditional art for Indonesian dancers. DLDC mission is to develop the professionalism and creativity of Indonesia choreographers and to improve the observations and the study of arts of the dancers.
